Grand Cayman is, as the name suggests, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, and possibly packed with the most attractions. Museums, craft markets, a 65-acre botanical park and, of course, sunny beaches are just a few of the draws around George Town, the island’s capital and primary cruise port. Historic walking tours are a must – these shores, once terrorized by pirates and a host of European colonials, are full of fascinating tales.

Visitors often head straight for Seven Mile Beach, a spot often hailed as the most beautiful, pristine stretch of sand in the Caribbean. Stingray City, a meeting place for dozens of tame rays, also is a favorite excursion for visitors looking for unique wildlife encounters. Another lure on Grand Cayman: Hell, a beach where blackened rock and extreme erosion have created an unlikely tourist attraction. The neighboring post office even offers to stamp your post cards with the crimson “Hell” watermark.
