This remote destination in southern Greenland, accessible through the neighboring port of Qaqortoq, is ringed by craggy mountain peaks, while brightly colored homes line the harbor. Though trips along the local fjords are popular excursions for visitors to this region, the town itself holds attractions ranging from unique arts and crafts markets to a fresh array of seasonal seafood.

At its center, Julianehab offers a quaint colonial district and the Town Museum, where visitors can trace the city’s founding in 1775 and explore its early connections to Inuit culture. Savior’s Church, a striking example of the local building style, also holds the “Stone and Man” carvings that the town commissioned to spruce up the local art scene.
